Conjunction
Two planets fused together — their energies blend into a single, intensified force.
See my conjunctions →A conjunction is when two planets sit within about 8° of each other in your chart — close enough that they fuse. They don't take turns; they speak at the same time. Conjunctions are the most concentrated aspect: whatever the two planets represent, you experience them together, every time, with no gap.
Conjunctions amplify. When two planets sit on top of each other, their energies don't average out — they intensify. A Sun-Mercury conjunction (extremely common) makes communication central to identity. A Venus-Mars conjunction makes love and desire inseparable; you don't really know how to want someone without also caring about them, or vice versa.
The character of a conjunction depends entirely on which planets are involved. A Jupiter-Sun conjunction is generous, optimistic, and sometimes inflated — the qualities of both planets, doubled. A Saturn-Moon conjunction is the opposite: emotional life under structure and weight, slow to open, careful with feelings.
Conjunctions can be a strength or a struggle. When the two planets get along well naturally — like Sun and Jupiter — the fusion is mostly a gift. When they pull in opposite directions — like Mars and Saturn (action vs. restraint) — the conjunction is internal tension, often productive once you learn to work with it instead of against it.
Tighter orbs (within 3°) hit harder than wider ones. A conjunction within 1° is one of the most defining features of a chart.
