What a new moon in Sagittarius means
With the Sun and Moon together in Sagittarius, this new moon opens a cycle of about four weeks that peaks at the full moon in Cancer on January 3, 2026. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign ruled by Jupiter; its keywords: adventurous, honest, philosophical.
Restlessness and optimism return. People want distance, ideas, a plan bigger than the day. Good for travel, teaching and saying the frank thing; the risk is promising more than the week can hold.
The instant is the same everywhere; only the clock reading changes. Distances are centre to centre. There is no official supermoon definition: here a supermoon is a new moon with the Moon within 360,000 km of Earth, a micromoon one beyond 405,000 km. Computed with astronomy-engine, tropical zodiac.
